Karlobag

A small town between Velebit and the sea, opposite Pag, on the Adriatic Highway.

Where Karlobag is

Karlobag is in Lika-Senj County, on the coast below Velebit, facing the island of Pag. At the 2021 census 368 people lived in the town itself and 780 in the municipality.

The D8 state road, the Adriatic Highway, runs through the town, and the D25 joins it here after coming down off Velebit over the Baške Oštarije pass.

    From Rijeka and Senj south on the D8. Rijeka to Karlobag is about 127 km.

    From Zadar and Starigrad north on the D8. Zadar is about 91 km away.

    From Velebit, on the D25

    From Gospić over the Baške Oštarije pass, then 19 km of descent to the sea.

Address and parking

Obala Vladimira Nazora 15, 53288 Karlobag. That is the street along the water, the same one the highway runs on.

The address on the restaurant Google profile is recorded incorrectly, as „9 17”. No such street exists in Karlobag. If your navigation takes you to the wrong place, enter Obala Vladimira Nazora 15 or open the map on the contact page.

The Google profile lists a free parking lot, a paid parking lot, and plenty of parking.

A different restaurant operates next door at number 16. If you are looking for Šušanj, it is number 15.

Nearby

The ferry to Pag

The Prizna to Žigljen crossing, about 16 km north of Karlobag. The crossing takes around 20 minutes.

Velebit

Velebit Nature Park begins immediately behind the town. The Baške Oštarije pass is at 927 m, 19 km by road.

Paklenica

Paklenica National Park is south along the coast, about 45 km.

The promenade to Ribarica

A seafront promenade runs about 2.4 km along the water.
